Mini pond made from 1/4 used 225L (50L) wine barrel

Beautiful half oak barrel to be used as a planter or pond
The mini pond is made from half a used wine barrel and can be set up however you like. The ideal idea to have a little more nature in your home and garden. The wine barrel  has a capacity of approximately 50 litres.
The oak barrel was previously used to store red wine for many years, which is why the wood inside is stained deep red. Before using it as a mini pond, it is advisable to "rinse" the wine barrel so that the wine residues come out of the barrel. To do this, simply fill it with water, leave it to act for one or more days and then replace it. This rinsing process can last several days, depending on how much red wine has been absorbed into the wood. If the water isn't changed initially and sits there for too long, it can "tip over." Then rinse it a few times with clean water until it no longer stains. However, the reddish water can be safely used to water plants.
If the wooden barrel has been left dry for a long time, the wood contracts and small gaps form between the individual barrel staves. A mini pond may leak water when filled. So be patient and fill the barrel with wine again. Over the course of about one or two days the wood expands again and seals the barrel in a completely natural way. Therefore there is no need for a pond liner or anything similar.
